This week we received some great news - we've been announced as one of 36 innovations worldwide to provide solutions to remove one trillion tonnes of atmospheric carbon dioxide in agricultural soils.
We and the lucky other 35 are semi-finalists in
The Terraton Challenge
, a programme organised by Indigo Agriculture to accelerate technologies which can achieve carbon sequestration.
Of the semi-finalists, we're one of five to have made it onto The Terraton Challenge's 'Reward Track', which seeks financial products and services that reward growers for sequestering soil carbon and drive rapid adoption of regenerative management practices.
Guy Thompson our managing director said: "My team and I are incredibly proud to have progressed to this stage in The Terraton Challenge.
"We share Indigo Agriculture's view that natural sequestration has a huge role to play in tackling climate change and welcome the call for innovative financial tech which rewards farmers for managing soil carbon responsibly - a perfect fit for EnTrade."
The Terraton Challenge semi-finalist cohort were picked out of 266 applications from 44 countries by a panel of expert judges.
For the next seven months, the innovators will take part in a virtual incubation cohort with access to mentors, review panels, and expert speakers. They will also have the opportunity to test their solutions in real world conditions through Indigo Agriculture's network of grower partners.
In June 2020 they will showcase their innovations live at Beneficial Ag 2020 and go on to refine their solutions before the Challenge ends in October 2020.
Guy added: "EnTrade is at a very important phase of growth as we continue to expand our offering to tackle more environmental threats. The next year is going to be extremely busy and I'm excited to take on The Terraton Challenge as an important part of our journey."
