Farm innovation grant open for applications

The online application process for Anglian Water’s Farm Innovation Grant is now open and will run until 30th November 2022. Assessment of the applications will occur in early December 2022 and offers made prior to the New Year.

After a successful pilot with farmers around reservoirs and within key groundwater areas last year, Anglian Water are widening their Farm Innovation Grant offer for this Autumn's Round 2. There will be a maximum grant rate of £7,500/holding to help support farmers and share some of the risk associated to trialling new approaches, changing practices and/or scaling up ideas to be incorporated into business as usual.

Unlike other grants, there are no set options. So if you are considering anything which could help protect raw water quality from pesticides, nutrients, pathogens or soil loss we want to hear from you. Land connectivity is key and by working and learning together we hope to find innovative solutions to local challenges.

Where required, an initial payment can be made upon signed agreements being returned, with a final payment upon project completion. This will allow you to progress with your ideas at the best time within the 2023 farming calendar.

Location

Applications can be made for projects in the shaded areas within Anglian Water’s boundary, shown in the interactive map below. Allocation of the grant will be done on a competitive basis, with priority being given to well planned projects in Focus Areas and Reservoir Catchments that deal with the key local issues.
